Teanena “Nena” Brinson is a Florida native, Lake County raised and graduate of Leesburg High School. She attended Lake Technical College for cosmetology and was inducted into the Nation Technical Honor Society during her time there.  Nena has worked with Renew since 2018 and served as an assistant to owner, Dina Simpson, honing her skills in color and cutting.  She has most recently passed her Florida Cosmetology Boards in November 2019.  Her hands-on training with Dina, as we all as her education, has uniquely prepared her for her career in cosmetology.  Her clients have come to know her for not only her positive influence, but her well known shampoos.  If you haven’t reclined in Nena’s shampoo sink, you might be missing out.

Braiding is an art form and a passion of hers; along with updos, extensions and quick weaves. Nena says, “Hair is art and like art, it should be fun!  All hair textures are fully embraced and accepted.”

Nena currently serves as a Sunday School teacher for her church’s children’s ministry and the kids love her because she brings the BEST snacks.  Her husband Gerard also serves as a musician in the church band playing bass, piano and drums and has coached football at Leesburg High School and AAU girls basketball.  Nena also enjoys spending time with her two sons, Gerard, 6 and D’Andre, 2.  In her down time she enjoys traveling, doing spoken word and enjoying life.
